Basic First Aid with E-learning (OFABLE101)
Target GroupPersonnel who will have emergency duties as a first aider on board an offshore installation.
ObjectiveAfter completing the course, participants should be able to:
- Perform basic life-saving first aid in case of serious injury and illness.
- Assist nurses during examination and treatment of patients.
Course ContentsE-learning:
- Organizing of preparedness.
- Circulatory failure (C) fracture and fluid treatment.
- Trauma patient – head, neck and back injury (ABCDE).
- Introduction to first aid.
- Level of consciousness (D) and emergency medical conditions.
- Airways and respiratory function (A B).
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Hypothermia, fire, caustic and electrical injuries.
Practice:
- Carrying out patient examination.
- Treatment of fire, corrosion and electrical injuries.
- Assisting nurse.
- Treatment of circulatory failure.
- Heart and lung rescue.
- Treatment of a hypothermic person.
